Epler's Maple Syrup
Each year, during the cold winter month of January our sap lines are being repaired. Preparations are being made at our sap house for the upcoming season. In mid February, each of our maple trees is carefully tapped. Sap flows from each one as the day time temperatures rise. Everyone is busy collecting sap, boiling sap, double checking sap lines canning pure maple syrup and making maple treats. As the weather gets warmer and tiny pink buds form on the maple trees, our maple season will come to a close. Even though the sap is no longer flowing from the trees, we are still busy canning syrup, making candy and selling our product. Maple syrup is 100% natural. It takes about 40 gallons of sap to make one gallon of pure maple syrup. Pure maple syrup has no additives or preservatives.
